Jesus profoundly tells it like it is:
"He answered 'Have you not read that the one who made them at the beginning "made them male and female", and said, 'for this reasn a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.' So, they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together let no one separate.'"
Why did not Jesus say: "made them male and male" or "female and female"? Jesus has two profound things here to say to us: 1) that the love of God for us is a spousal love. Isaiah say: As a young man marries a woman so your Maker will marry you." Isaiah says God says: "I will espouse you to Me." Marriage is so sacred because God sees His intimacy with our souls to be that of a marital imtimacy - the closest inmtimacy we can know on this earth in the natural order. Of course the ecstacies of the Saints like St. Teresa of Avila
and St. John of the Cross are even more spritual but both those saints used the Song of Songs - marital love - to express their love for God.
Jesus says that from the beginning God made them "male and female". He lets no other possible relationship into "Marriage". All other relationships are not of God because God did not make them. The California legislature has made them. But these are not marriages. They are legal status to same sex relationship. But they are NOT marriage. Marriage is only possible for the union of a man and woman. The Word of God says so. the California legislature notwithstanding.
"Same sex marriage" is a physical, philosophical, theological and psychological impossiblity. Is it possible to
have a "same square circle"? Same sex friendship is a possibility. But a "friendship" is not a "marriage".
Same sex marriage is a legal lie to get financial status and social status for a same sex relationship. But legal entities are not "moral" or ontological [as to the philosophy of "being"] enities.
Immoral legal entities in history are as follows:
1) Hitler said that any woman [at the Arian mating camps] who bears a son or daugher for the Furer is legally designated as "Frau". These he imagined are the "wives of the Furer". But none of these women were married at all.
2) Hitler said that in mythology Jews betrayed Germany and were currently betraying Germany in his Germany. He legally made "the final solution" into accepted law. Jews could be killed. This legal entity had horrific effects: 6 million Jews killed in concentration camps. But even worse: 350 German civilians volunteered to kill Jews. These civilians shot Jews in cold blood because it was legal to do so. What is legal is not what is moral or ontologically rational. The cruelty of Hitler was made worse that he tried to make crime into a civil good. He confused what he thought was good for Germany with any means necessary to carry out that good. Therefore the end justifies the means. He mistakenly considers Jews should die and considers the means to kill them as good as well. Why does he do this? He was morally insane.
3) In the French Revolution is was legal to cut heads off of noblemen and women for "Liberte', Fraternite', and Equalite'." But no one knew what those three concepts meant. It was just catch words to cut heads off people legally.
4) The emporer Nero tried to made same sex relationships legal and homosexual acts with little boys legal.
Nero burned Rome, blamed in on the Christians, killed Christians and made them into human torches for his garden. In the end he killed himself to avoid being assassinated. What goes around comes around.
5) In 1973, Roe v Wade made abortion legal for any reason. This law was increased to "abortion on demand" up to 9 months of pregnancy. President Clinton signed an executive order on his last day in office to allow abortion of a baby AFTER birth if no one wanted that child. President Obama supports the "Freedom of Choice Act" allowing abortion AFTER birth of a child. President Obama on the anniverary of Roe vWade said he "would uphold a woman's right to abortion." "Pro-choice" is a sweet word for "Pro-killing." Choice is a good. But when "choice" as a means to legally killing children in the womb, then like Hitler, the means are not "good" in any way - because these means - murdering a child in the womb - is an intrinsic evil. Never can we use an "intrinsic evil" to do "good". But Hitler did it. Nero did it. Napoleon did it. Obama does it.
Since Roe v Wade, 60,000,000 babies have been killed in the womb. There are 1.3 million a year who die in the womb here in the US alone. It is legal to kill these babies; but God has said planly: "Thou shalt not kill."
Legal killing is horrendous crime with whip cream on it. Hitler's "final solution" and our "pro-choice" are exactly the same: using nice legal words to kill people.
6) Stalin killed 20 million of his own people and worked to death 40 more million of his own people. Thus Stalin killed more people in Russia than the whole WWII did in Europe. His murderous actions were all legal.
7) The KKK killed Negoes of the South but were exempt from the law because high-ranking clansmen were in the goverment. Thus killing African American were essentially legal in Alabama.
8) All Christians martyrs were executed legally.
Thus we can see with the eyes of history that what is legal is not what is moral. We can see with historical eyes that legal murdering of the innocent people - in or out of the womb - is a crime.
The Nuremberg Trials found Nazi war criminals guilty of crimes against humanity. The Nurmeberg judges did not accept the Nazi excuses that they "were only following orders." The judges said that the Nazi's knew that killing innocent people was wrong in their heart at the time they did it. Following orders does not take away their moral conscience. The Nazi's were hanged except for Hess who killed himself hours before the hanging. History had made judgements on past legal crimes; and History will judge "Pro-abortion" for what it really is: MURDER!
Coming full circle back to so-called "same sex marriage". It does not and cannot exist ontologically in the eyes of God, in the eyes of Christians or Jews or Muslims, Californian law makers notwithstanding.
Father, You have made us "male and female." We know by our very bodies, how You fashioned them; we know by how your fashioned our hearts and souls, that marriage is between one man and one woman. Also, You took the time and trouble to reveal this to us in Your Word in Genesis and in the words of Jesus who is the Word of God, Himself.
Give us, Father, to revere the Sacrament of Marriage and keep it sacred by upholding this wonderful gift that even the fall of Adam and Eve did not take away. Bless our marriages and give us the nuptual graces to keep our marriages holy and faithful and beautiful and joyful in Your eyes.
All this we ask in Jesus' Name we pray. Amen.
Love, Pio
