Pio's Proverb 96: What is and Why is there "White"?

Really, why is there "white" at all. What is it? It is a color we see; but why and what is it?

Let us look at this scientifically, philsophically and theologically:

Scienctifically:
White light which differs from just plain white as does the sun to the moon is the fullness of color. White light contains all the colors. If you take a prisimum and let white light pass though it, what happens? A prism separates white light passing through it into the colors of the rainbow. So, therefore, white light contains all colors in it. This seems a little miraculous - whether we see it happening in a prism or in a rainbow in the sky. How can something white become manifested into all colors? Or better yet, how can many colors add up to white light? As a painter for many years, if I put all the primary and secondary colors I have in my paintbox together and paint them delicately and gently on a white canvass, I will certainly never get white as a result. It is only white light that can mix all colors into itself and come out white light. This is a marvel.

Man can only paint actually with colors that it can see. Paint mixers use colors that are imitation of colors seen in nature and then mixed to make colors that are not found in nature. But this could not happen if man could not see colors in the first place. How can we see colors?

Human kind and primates are the only inhabitants on this planet that can see color. It takes neurons to fire and cause an image upon the retina. There are color sensitive cones on the retina. These color cones are only found in humans and primates. So, you dog or cat or bird or bumble bee do not see colors. Bees are sensitive to ultraviolate rays. Some flowers emit ultraviolate which attract bees. Well, why do male ducks look so much more beautiful than female ducks. They hope to attract females or are the ones who choose mates. The beautiful green necks must be seen as green by the female. The females do not see color as we do. But they are very aware of the beauty of form of a male duck and perceive a male's ducks beauty. I believe the male ducks beauty and all the colors of animals are for our edification not theirs.  But the fact is that we can see color. That being the case we use color for everything. We can teach piano by color coding for young children to learn more easily. We can paint beautiful paintings of nature, flowers, birds, animals, sunsets, even other humans. We can see color and make colors to be used in our traffic lights, in our cars, in our walls, in our computer screens. Color is all around us. People with near-death exerience tell of the incredible colors in heaven - greater than our imagination can dream of.

Philsophically:
Epistomology is the branch of Philosophy that asks the question, "How can we know?" How can we know that we know that we know?
