Happy Birthday, Mom Mary! Today, September the 8th, the Church celebrates the Birhtday of Mary, Mother of God and Mom to all of us, her children. Since December 8th is Mary's Feast of her Immaculate Conception, the Church just counts 9 months to her Birthday today. So, Happy Birthday, Mom, is an appropriate and loving Feast Day of Mary, Our Mother. On the cross, Jesus told John and all of us: "Behold your Mother!" And John "took her into his home" and heart. So, Mary whom St. John's Book of Revelation called her the "woman clotghed with the sun!" has not gone from us. She still remains with us by remaining in the Church. She like the Chuch is Mother to us all. She can do more from Heaven than you could do here while on earth. But she still does look at all of us and our situations and knows who of us have run out of wine. She takes our needs to Jesus before we ask her just as she did at Cana before the couple asked her to intercede. Just as Holy Mother the Church brings forth spiritual children to God, so Mary - ever Virgin - brings forth holiness from her children. They Church is Virginal too in her pure Ecclesiatical Motherhood. Virginity brings forth fruit onto holiness. Just as the Holy Catholic Church is Virgin and Mother, so Mary is Virgin and Mother whom Jesus Himself gave us as His final Sacrament to the Church from the cross.
So, in Savation history, the Church celebrates these 3 distinct birthdays: Jesus and Mary and St. John the Baptist. So, this day is one of those special days.
We celebrate Mary because of her above role in Salvation history and because she is so often mentioned in Holy Scripture:
1) Luke has her kneeling in prayer when the Angel Gabriel comes to ask her to consent to becoming the Mother of God. She consent only when she knows her virginity will be preserved.
2) She visits Elizabeth who praises Mary's Faith in believing all would be fulfilled as promised to her. Mary's Song: the Magnificat says: "My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior because He who is Mighty has done great things for me and Holy is His Name..."
3) Mary is there at the Birth of Jesus as she brings Him forth into this world. Angels harold His Coming.
4) Mary sees the Magi coming to visit Jesus.
5) Mary hastens to Egypt to escape Harod's murderous intent.
6) Mary with Joseph presents Jesus in the Temple.
7) Mary finds Jesus in the Temple after looking for him for three days.
8) Mary intercedes for the couple at Cana who had no wine. She tells the waiters: "Do whatever He tells you."
9) Mary is there under the Cross seeing her Son die.
10) Mary does see Jesus after the Resurrection but the event is not recorded.
11) Mary is there with the apostles in the upper room of Pentecost.
12) Mary sees Jesus ascend into Heaven.
13) Mary, herself is taken up - assumed into - into heaven.
14) Mary has appeared down the centuries: To Simon Stock, to Juan Diego as Our Lady of Quadalupe, to Berndadette Souberous as Our Lady of Lourdes, to the three children as Our Lady of Fatima, to the many children as Our Lady of Medugore. Mary is with us..she does not forget her children..and calls all of us "to do whatever He tells you."
Dearest Mom Mary, I love you!! xox

Happy Birthday, Mom Carmen!
March 4, 1912, my sweet Mom was born. She had 8 children was extraordinary in her love and caring and her wisdom. She died saying the rosary praying: "Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen." Finishing that amen, she took 2 small breaths and never exhaled. She died in the arms of Jesus and Mary and Joseph.
Happy Birthday, Mom, I love you; thank you for giving me life, for every meal you cooked for me, for every laundry to did for me, for all the times you hung my clothes to dry, for every salad you made for me, for loving me into life!! Mom, You were/are the greatest!!! Thanks for teaching my by saying the rosary everyday of your life to honor and love Mary, Mother of God, Mother of Perpetual Help. Thank you for showing me especially your love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus who came for you on that January 25, day of 2002 at 10:15 pm after receiving three Sacraments from the Church's priest from St. Hugo's.
Thank you, Mom, for your love on your last Thanksgiving Day when you took my plate and filled it up with a mountain of food for me and gave it to me with such a smile and satisfaction. Only you, Mom, would do such an act of love.
Dearest Mom, I love you!! xox
To my readers: if you want to be close to Mary and your Mom, the surest way to contact them is to go to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and visit them because they are both in the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus. When you go to Holy Communion, Mary and your Mom are there with Jesus in His Sacred Heart.
Love, Pio
