BEAUTY IS POWER! Beauty moves us like nothing ELSE does. A morning sunrise or sunset, the smile of a one year old, the little blue flower we see in the grass, the rolling waves, the face of the person you love with all your heart: all these experiences have Power in themselves and over you and your spirit. Why? Because "GOD IS BEAUTY; AND WHERE EVER THERE IS BEAUTY, THERE IS GOD!" Perhaps you have not heard that before...because I just made it up...but it is nonetheless TRUE.
Actually, WHAT IS BEAUTY? Beauty is an all encompassing spiritual-physical experience that is a result of our perception of perfection. What causes this experience in us has power over us. How do we know Beauty is the Beautiful calling forth our deepest emotions and awe-inspiring response. It is as if Beauty calls forth from our inner-most being the Intrinsic Beauty within ourselves! Thus Beauty makes us feel Beautiful about ourselves (please see my blog: 132: How Beautiful are you?), about the world, about the universe, about God. In fact, Beauty is a proof of the existence of God. There may be Beauty in the Universe; but unless we have the perceptive-reflexive-capacity to SEE Beauty, it would not exist as a power on the earth. WE in this sense give Beauty its Power. If we could not recognize it, then it would just be an elusive entity. When Joyce Kilmer wrote: "I think I will never see the beauty of a tree," she was expressing her experience of a tree IN ITS WHOLENESS, PROPORTION AND UNITY. But this was only one radiant form of Beauty. Even Jesus was conscious of Beauty for its own sake. He said: "I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these (flowers)." What function do flowers serve? Ecologists were set out on a project to find in this particular small ecological rain forest what the final/ultimate purpose was for this rain forest. They did time lapse photography and followed the food chain of small insects to frogs and fish and small animals. After nearly a year of intense study of the one acre ecological site, they came to a final and irrefutable conclusion. They photographed a lovely yellow water lilly and concluded that this particul flower was the top of the ecological food chain and living organism of this rain forest. They photographed the flower from all angels and showed the flawless progression of biological events that led to its creation and being. They concluded that this flower actually did nothing except TO BE! This was the whole purpose of the pond in the middle of the rain forest. Therefore, God seems to have designed earth and the whole Universe for the purpose of BEAUTY. Why is that, do you think. Could it be to teach us that "God is All Perfect Beauty; and wherever there is Beauty, there is God?"
Beauty even in industry has Power. A truly beautiful car moves many people to think of something beyond themselves..that Beauty is a commodity that not only sells but inspires. Many cars imitate the form of a woman. The line that is created from the top of the neck of a woman and moving down ward to just around the buttox is a curve in nature that is the most beautiful line in the universe. It is a long and shorter S curve. That is the line that is used industrially in the top surface of the GM Stingray and even in the Coke bottle. It is not Sex that sells things. It is Beauty that sells things. Beauty is Power.
The Beauty of Math: related to the most beautiful line in nature, there is the math behind that beautiful line: e (natural base of natural log rythym ) i (squareroot of 0 - 1) pie (3.14) + 1 = 0 (or = sum value of x) where the integral and anti-derivative are the same.
1) Also, the Beauty of Math are seen in the Golden Ratio : Fibowazci Series: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34 etc calculated thus: 1 + 1 = 2; 2 + 3 = 5; 5 + 3 = 8; 8 + 5 = 13; 13 + 8 = 21; 13 + 21 = 34 etc.
a) This is also the ratio of the Parthenon in Rome. (the formula for the concrete panels in the ceiling was lost for 300 years and then re-discovered.
b) That is the ratio of series of sunflower seeds from the center seed to the outer rim. It is also the natural volumns of the conch shell from the begining to the end of the shell. .
2) Alpha Constant: spin of electron in a carbon atom. (spin: function of energy). If this spin were to be 100th/1000th slower, the cabron atom would not hold together. If the spin were to 100th/1000th faster, the atom would form a different chemical that would make life impossible. - all as iterated by the Richard Fehyman Principle.
There is the Beauty of Art in films: When you speak or write something beautiful, it has the Power to move hearts. The films: "The Song of Bernadette, Man for All Seasons, The Passion of the Christ -- All -- are moving because there is there the Power of Beauty.
Have you ever heard the Opera: La Traviata? Have you heard those arias? That is the Power of Beauty!

The face of Angelina is Beautiful. I my humble opinion, there is no grearter hymn that this one. I listen to it every morning with arms stretched out to God..and prayerfully offer my new day to God WITH Christ! This hymn written by St. Patrick and sung by Angelina is sheer Beauty! The hymn is sheer Power! All comes from God..and goes to God!
Have you heard Andrew Johnston/Liam McNally sing: Danny Boy, Pie Jesu, or Andrew Lloyd's Webber's Requiem? (on Britain's Got Talent)? Well if you have, you will see and experience tears in your eyes. Why? Sheer Beauty of his voice that has so much soul into it...and such a clarity and purity that you think you are hearing a broadcast from the studios of Heaven itself!!! Just google his name or perhaps you will see his icon when you google stpatrickbreastplatesong. Andrew is 13 years old and going on 23. His sheer beauty of talent and voice is moving that there is not a dry eye when you hear him. God's Beauty and Purity SHINE through him and in him! His voice is directly from God. ..and God's love!
All our talents are from God and for God's glory and to be used for the service of others!
There is "Star Power" driven by personal beauty. For examples: Cary Grant had Star Power not only based on his abilitiy to act, but maybe even more so by his incredible handsomness. His best role in "The Bishop's Wife" combines his Beautiful Personality with his Beautifully handsome face. He looked like and acted like an angel. He alone could have done this role because in Hollywood at the time, nobody was more beautiful that he was. His face reflected God's Beautiful face better than anyone in the film industry. He had for sure "The Power of Beauty"! And it did not go to head. It went to his audiences and fans. His smile could unlock doors without touching them!
But who had "POWER OF BEAUTY" most in this world since the beginning of human history?
Jesus -- as a historical figure -- was the most beautiful man to ever live. Pliney, the historian, who lived at the same time as Jesus, said this about Jesus: "I have seen this Jesus. I was watching him come down the main road from a roof view. He was 6 feet tall (extremely tall for those days) and had light blonde hair and blue eyes. But his most remarkable feature was this: he had the most beautiful arms I have ever seen on any man."
So, Jesus not only had supernatural powers of healing and personality; he had what we call now "Star Power". He was simply beautiful in every way: physically and spiritually. He had a great sense of humor, too. When a town did not accept him, James and John (brothers) said to Jesus: "Shall we have lighting and thunder fall on them!" Yes, did not respond to that request; but did respond by calling James and John when then onward: "Sons of thunder!" Jesus also called the impetuous and flip-flopping Peter: "Rock." In fact the Latin says has Jesus' precise words: Tu es Petrus; et super hank petram edificabo ecclesiam tuam." -- "You are Peter; and upon this rock, I will build my church."
If you examin the Shoud of Turin (a negative not positive image of Jesus) you will see that this is a 6 foot tall man who was for sure crucified. There are blood stains on this image. There is pollens on this shroud that date back 2000 years and can specifically be found in Jerusalem. This man seems to have light hair. The image seems to have been made by a burst of light..and created by a kind of computer type scan that has left three-dimensional ata for our technological times. We can create from this remarkable image the full three dimensional Jesus. He was a beautiful man. This image seems to be really for our age. It speaks to us cleary about the Beauty of the Human Body vesus Porn: Jesus is fully nude in this image; but his genitals are modestly covered by his hands. Jesus in death is still preaching to our times. He was a beautiful man and still is. And we just celebrated his Resurrection that reflected the Jesus that was transfigured on the mountain when he appeared in all his glory to Peter and John. Jesus has the most "Star Power" of any man. Indeed because he was born under the special star of Bethlehem 2000 years ago...and still he does not seem to show any signs of aging. He cannot age because his claim is true when he said: "I am the way, the truth and the life!"..."I have come so that you may have life..and have it abundantly." He could also have meant: "I have come that you may have Beauty; and have it abundantly."
When we act like Jesus did: kind, merciful, loving and with a sense of humor, our every good act has his Beauty and Power in it!
The most beautiful woman I have ever met is Miss Margaritka from the Ukraine. She is 6 feet tall and so lovely that she takes one's breath away. Her golden hair and lovely face and perfect figure is greater that Botticelli's Birth of Venus. There is so much in common between this painting and Margaritka: both lovely women are blonde and sweet and innocent and tall and symbolize the eternal beauty of God. God designed both the model of this painting and Margaritka. God thought of and planned the creation of Margaritka to express His beauty and His love..and His own purity. Margaritka is a lovely virgin at age 30 and looks much younger because of her innocence. When beauty of form meets the beauty of soul and the beauty of innocents, you have a view into the eternal Beauty of God. Margaritka is magnificent: "Margaritka is the most beautiful painting ever painted; the most beautiful poem ever written; and the most beautiful story ever told." She gives glory to God by being a reflection of His image: truly Margaritka is "made in the image and likeness of God." May God keep her ever beautiful by His protective Love to surround her since she is His darling daughter, so precious and beautiful. God must truly love the man He has called to marry her because she would be a most precious gift from God's hands and preserved only for him...from all eternity. Her beauty will bring him back into the garden of Eden...into paradise...with every sunrise of Margaritka into and on the horizon of his life! And when Margaritka is near 9 months pregnant, she will be in the fullest bloom of her Beauty and be an image of God's Beauty of Creation. Yes, the universe is beautiful and vast; but Margaritka's beauty is even greater because her Beauty can love God back; whereas the universe only reflects God but does not have the capability of knowing and loving God back as Margaritka does. And her baby will be the visible love of God ever new...ever bringing new life and new beauty into the world. The eyes of her baby will be God's beautiful eyes looking back at us. The little baby's hands will be God's hands touching our cheek.....and the voice of this baby will be God's telling us: "I love you." Babies are God's messengers and ambassadors of His love for us. All are manifestations of His Love and Beauty. All motherhood is an expression of God's Creative Motherhood. All fatherhood is an expression of His Creative Fatherhood. And the whole of His Plan is totally BEAUTIFUL!!! Thus He plans that Margaritka's Beauty will only cause the creation of more new life and more new beauty in the world!
Therefore, let us be sure to see the Beauty of God in those who He sends into our lives, in all the flowers we see today....in the beauty of nature and in the kindness of those around us who bring us the love of Jesus....because His love shown to us in those who love is is truly Beautiful! Keep our eyes open to meet His love today in those who show His love..and even in the love you show to others because He said: "Whatever you do for the least of my brethren, you to to Me.."

Pio's Proverb 174: 'Happy Birthday to me!" April 11, 2012!
Today, by the grace/mercy of God and the love of my mom and dad, is my 74th Birthday!
I feel very grateful. I went to a funeral this morning of my dearest friend, William Pattyn. He was a year younger than myself. Yet God took him home and left me behind. Of coures Bill was born into heaven on Easter Morning: what a day to leave this world! God bless you, Bill, and Happy Birthday to you on your new birth into Heaven! This is your big day!
When I was being born at home on April 11, 1938, my sweet Mom, Carmen Zammit, told me many years later that she could hear my sister, Catherine, age 1, singing in the next room. Since Catherine had just celebrated her first birthday on April 10, 1938, she was still celebrating her birthday on my birthday, April 11. Catherine was singing to herself loudly for everyone to hear: "Happy Birthday to me...Happy Birthday to me.!!.." So, every year since then I have call my sister and sing her the same song she invented on my birthday. We always excange good wishes and love on April 10 and April 11. She looks forward to my song to her that she herself has composed 74 years ago on this date.
So, let us pray:
"Dearest Father, thank you for giving birth to me in Your mind before the world was created and for deciding that April 11, 1938 was the perfect day to get born into this world. You also have picked out the date that you will let me be born into heaven..like you did for Bill. I pray it will be a long time from now..many years..but just as April 11, 1938 was the perfect date to come into this world, so my new birthday into Heaven will be the perfect date. And just as you made sure I was born safely into this world, so too you will make sure I am born into the next safely too. Thank you ahead of time for that date.
Father, would you please take this request deeply into Your Heart? Would you allow me to come to you as Enoc did? "Enoc walked with God; and then he was no more because God took him." Father, you took Enoc body and soul..not because he was holy. I am not worthy...but You took him because YOU ARE HOLY! So, Abba! Would you please remember this request and take me as You did Enock. This I ask in Jesus' name through the Immaculate Heart of Mary -- all with praise and thanks or hearing my prayer right now....and for inspiring me to pray/ask this favor. Father, when I arrive in Heaven, would You please be the first to wish me, "Happy Birthday, My son!" Amen."

Pio's Proverb 173: HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY: APRIL 7, 2012!
"THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE. LET US BE GLAD AND REJOICE IN IT!"
This is the day that we should rejoice because it is the culmination of the three holy days -- the Holy Tridium -- when we were FULLY REDEEMED! These three days: Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday Morning are the fulfillment of the Holy Paschal Mystery of our Redemption.
Mary Magdaline is our model for rejoicing and evangelizing. Mary saw Jesus in the garden and thought He was the gardener. But He said: "Mary!" and she recognized Jesus and replied, "Rebonni"! (Teacher). Jesus told her to go and tell His desciples that He is risen! Now, why did Jesus choose Mary Magdaline to bring the Good News to the Apostles? Why did Jesus choose this woman to evangelize the Evangelists? Would it not be better if Jesus has sent His own mother, Mary, instead of this new convert to the Faith? No, if Jesus sent His mother, His desciples would easily believe her. But Jesus wanted a redeemed sinner to bring the Good News to show that a forgiven sinner is whom God loves to choose because of her humility..and to let the desciples know that women have a great role in the Church. Also, Mary teaches all of us that WE must bring the Resurrection Good News to others. Let us humbly and boldly be like Mary who encurred rejection in bringing the Good New to the desciples. She followed and obeyed Jesus ...followed Him to the Hill of the Cross ...followed Him to the tomb..and now to His Resurrection! She was on fire for the Lord! So, should we be..and brave all to bring this message to the world: "Jesus has Risen...ALLELUIA!"
So, look in the mirror this morning. Do you an evangelist who looks redeemed! Will others who look at you today see in your face that you are redeemed?! Will they see in your smile and eyes that you are forgiven, set free and redeemed? Will they see in your face the relief that you were once a prisoner but now are set free and now have a new life in Jesus? Will they see in your face that you have the Faith and Hope -- the conviction -- that now you going to heaven because Jesus has paid the price for your sins and let you go free to go and forgive and love others as He has forgiven and loved you? Will they see that you have the assurance of eternal life...the security of having your name written right now in the Book of Life! Your name is there!
Therefore: "REJOICE..AGAIN I SAY REJOICE!"
Jesus said: "Love one another as I have loved you!" This is the day to love one another -- even more than Christmas! On Christmas, the Child Jesus or Redeemer was born. But today, the Child Jesus has become the REDEEMER actualized -- come fully of age -- and has accomplished what He was sent to do: REDEEM YOU AND ME!
So, let us look redeemed! Let us have joy on our faces fully reflecting the true joy in our hearts:
WE ARE REDEEMED!!
Therefore, these three days of Holy Tridium is a fulfillment of the Promise that God the Father made to Adam and Eve that He would send a Redeemer to bring them back into Paradise! Adam and Eve are NOW in Paradise just as the Father PROMISED THEM.
So, just as Adam and Eve had lost paradise by pride and disobedience against God, now the New Adam: Jesus and the New Eve: Mary by their obedience have brought us all of back into paradise..now and forever! And just as the "tree of good and evil" in the garden brought death to Adam and Eve and took them out of paradise, now the Tree of Life in the Garden of Calvary has given us the new Fruit of Justice and brought us back to paradise!
HAPPY EASTER!!
"Happy" because the Loving Father accomplished and fulfilled His promise: this great Act of Love for Adam and Eve and all their children down the centuries? How did He do it? By His love:
"God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son so that whoever would believe in Him would have eternal life!" John 3:16.

Pio's Proverb 172: April 1, 2012: "April Fools' Day: how it came to be."
Have you ever considered how April Fools' day came to be? Here is how it happened:
Until the late 6th Century, every one followed the calendar created by Emperor Julius which came to be called by historians as the "Julian Calendar."
But Pope Saint Gregory the Great who was Pope from 590 AD to 604 AD noticed that the Julian calendar contained some errors..notably in the month of April. So, Pope Gregory created a new calendar that corrected these errors. Historians caledl this "the Gregorian Calendar" which the whole Western World follows as a matter of course. No one questions it.
But during the Protestant Reformation in Europe, there were some Protestants who did not want to follow anything "papal". So, this group decided to go back to the use of the "Julian Calendar" -- which they did. Well, in America, the Prostestants and Catholic did not revert to the Julian Calander. The European Prostestants -- God bless them -- seeing this, commented thus: "Look at these April Fools!"
Thus came the tradition of April Fools' Day, which we celebrate today and every first day of April.
Additionally, there is a very interesting application of this "feast day": Seems there was a group of atheists here in the US who complained that there was no national holiday or feast day that belonged entirely to atheists. This group tried to remedy the situation and filed a suit in Federal Court to try and establish a feast day or national holiday specifially for all atheists in the nation to celebrate each year.
Finally, they had their day in court and gave oral aguments to the Judge by giving this rationale: If Christians have Christmas and Easter and Jews have Hanukkah and Moslems gather once a year in Mecca, why should not there be a national holiday to commemorate the community of atheists in this nation?
The Judge listened to more oral arguments but seemed somewhat irritated. But before the team of lawyers for the plaintiffs could finish their oral arguments, the Judge slammed down his gavel while proclaiming: "CASE DIMISSED!"
The lawyers were puzzled and petitioned the Court why the "case" would be "dismissed" so quickly and so suddenly before all oral arguments were heard. The Judge -- who had come to this conclusion suddenly as if enlightened from above -- said in reply:
"There is no need for this illustrious Court to establish a special day for atheists to celebrate. Hear well what the Judges of the OT have said: 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.'" Therefore you have a feast day already to celebrate each year as your very own: April Fools' Day!"

Additionally, there is a very interesting application of this "feast day": Seems there was a group of atheists here in the US who complained that there was no national holiday or feast day that belonged entirely to atheists. This group tried to remedy the situation and filed a suit in Federal Court to try and establish a feast day or national holiday specifially for all atheists in the nation to celebrate each year.
Finally, they had their day in court and gave oral aguments to the Judge by giving this rationale: If Christians have Christmas and Easter and Jews have Hanukkah and Moslems gather once a year in Mecca, why should not there be a national holiday to commemorate the community of atheists in this nation?
The Judge listened to more oral arguments but seemed somewhat irritated. But before the team of lawyers for the plaintiffs could finish their oral arguments, the Judge slammed down his gavel while proclaiming: "CASE DIMISSED!"
The lawyers were puzzled and petitioned the Court why the "case" would be "dismissed" so quickly and so suddenly before all oral arguments were heard. The Judge -- who had come to this conclusion suddenly as if enlightened from above -- said in reply:
"There is no need for this illustrious Court to establish a special day for atheists to celebrate. Hear well what the Judges of the OT have said: 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.'" Therefore you have a feast day already to celebrate each year as your very own: April Fools' Day!"
