Pio's Proverb 184: Met a great man today: Fr. Scott!
After Mass at Immaculate Conception, I met Fr. Scott Binet MD, MI.
He is a medical doctor and a priest and a missionary in Haiti. He is 49 years old, 6' 3", and I think as good looking as Gary Grant with graying temples and pure eyes, built like John Wayne.
Doctor/Father Scott Binet has given everything he has to God; and will continue to do so till God calls him home. He is truly a "high priest"..tall, generous, holy, greatly educated, and devoted to the Love of God and the Love of his fellow men/women/children.
He works to save lives in the Haiti - in season and out of season - and that means in and out of disaster season.
He can educate one child for a year for $50 and pays teachers $100 a month to do so. Why is he a great man? Because he said at the 8:00 am Mass that we are all called to be missionaries...but seems that when he says this, there is real true "gold behind his words" because he is not only talking the talk but walking the walk.

Pio's Proverb 182: Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, June 15, 2012.
Today Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus which is the last of the Tridium Feasts centering around the Holy Eucharist. Today is Feast of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus present in every tabernacle on the planet. Jesus' Heart is not only beating in heaven; it is beating -- theologians say about 7 times a minute -- in every tabernacle in every Catholic Church in the World.
What is that mean to you and to me? To answer that question, we must understand why Christianity is the most unique Religion in the World:
A) In all other religions, the prophet of those religions: Budda, Mohammed, Hindu prophets -- All claim to teach a "way to God"; but not one of them claimed to be "The way, the truth and the life!" as Jesus did. All these other messengers of God never claimed to be Divine. But Jesus said: "Before Abraham came to be, I AM!"(echoing the Words of the Burning Bush: "I AM Who Am.") Jesus claimed to be God. "The Father and I are one!" ."...Phillip, when you see me, you are seeing the Father...do you not know that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?"
"In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God; and the Word was God; and the Word became flesh and dwelled amongst us..." John 1: 1.
B) At the Core of Christianity is the Divinity of Christ or ROSE FROM THE DEAD. Thus the RESURRECTION OF CHRIST PROVES HIM TO BE DIVINE. The Divinity of Christ is intrinsically linked to His Resurrection.
C) The Divinity of Christ is intrinsically united to His Resurrection which are both proclaimed in the Eucharistic Heart of Christ. Jesus said: "Who ever eats my body and drinks my blood, I will raise him up on the last day!" Divinity -- Resurrection of Jesus -- and out resurrection are all contained in the Holy Eucharist: in the Eucharistic Sacred Heart of Jesus.
D) In the Holy Eucharist, the Resurrected Jesus is resurrecting us. Our bodies are being touched by a Resurrected Body of Christ...and by that fact...He has to raise us up...He said He would if we recieved His Body and Blood...but sometimes I begin to wonder that He must raise us up..since His Resurrected Body has already touched ours. Being touched by Jesus and His Resurrection cannot be erased...the effects are both Divinely loving and eternal! What we have here is a Resurrected Christ resurrecting us in each Eucharist... Each Eucharist we receive is His Promise to Raise us UP.
Let us count even more ways that the Sacred Heart of Jesus is manifested in the Holy Eucharist:
1) Christ's humility is shown that he is hidden in the Tabernacle under the appearance of bread and wine instead of in His true Glory as he was at the Transfiguration with Moses and Eljah and Peter and John. So the Eucharistic teaches us the Humility of God.
2) The Heart of Jesus was made known mostly through St. Mary Margariet A. She even commissioned a painting of Jesus with His Heart exposed. There is a crown of thorns around His Heart and a lance mark into the Sacred Heart. There are many promises to those who are dovoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Those who keep the nine First Fridays of the month by going to Mass and Communion have special graces. My Mom was devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and always kept the nine First Fridays. When you was dying, I saw Jesus at her bedside with a great love on his face for her. He keeps all His promises.
3) Christ's humility is also shown that Jesus as the Word of God left the Father's side to become man.
4) Christ's humility is also shown that Jesus underwent the suffering of the Cross to enable Him -- as the Lamb of God -- is given to us in this Great Paschal Mystery.
5) Jesus said: "As the Father has loved me..so I have loved you." Thus the Sacred Heart of Jesus is also the image of the Eternal Father's love for us. The Heart of Jesus is seen clearly in His defense of the woman caught in adultery. Jesus mercy is incredible. O Blood and water that gushed froth from the Heart of Christ, we trust in you."
6) The Sacred Heart of Jesus is also the Father's Heart toward the Prodigal Son: totally forgiving and with no punishment.
7) The Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Compassionate Heart of St. Joseph are all very linked in Love...as the three hearts that beat as one ..in the Holy Family of God.
Let us pray:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place our hearts into your Heart..keep us safe from all harm and protected from all sin...and from all dangers to our souls. The Spirit said in Psalm 37: 3-7: 'Delight in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart." Help us to not only to delight in You, Lord. but that since You delight in us, let us try to give You your own Sacred Heart's desires: our love and sanctitfication. All this we ask in Jesus' Name we pray though Mary's Immaculate Heart. Amen.
Peace and love,
Pio...Jesus loves all of us and shows His Love by borrowing our hearts to proclaim His Heart to others. Let us bring His Sacred Heart to every one we meet today...and always..amen.

Pio's Proverb 181: Feasts of St. Anthony of Padua, Corpus Christi and The Sacred Heart of Jesus:
It is not accidental that these three great Feast Days: 1) The Solemnity of Corpus Christi (Sunday, June 10) and 2) The Feast of St. Anthony of Padua (Wednesday, June 13) and 3) The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Friday, June 15) all occure within 6 days.
What is the Church teaching us here? What are the links binding these three Feasts together? What is the Holy Spirit doing in making these Feasts to proximate to each other. Isn't this too much to take in all at once?
Let's see where the Church and the Holy Spirit are taking us on this 6-day-spiritual extravaganza:
1) Links: In all these three feasts, there is: priesthood; priesthood; prieshood! St. Anthony was at the heart of his whole life -- a priest of God: a preacher of the Gospel and the Bringer of the Holy Eucharist to the people of God. The Holy Eucharist is the Corpus Christi: Body of Christ. The Sacred Heart of Jesus -- for us who live on the earth -- is the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, truly beating in every tabernacle in the world. Do we see how these lovely Feasts -- ALL three -- flow smoothly through one another to help us to see more clearly the Spiritual Reality of Jesus' Body and Blood as the Source, Summit and personal Nourishment of our souls?
2) St. Anthony was an "alter Christus" - "another Christ" - for the people of Padua. Anthony raised a boy to life, restored a severed leg to a young man, evangelized the heretics and was called the "Hammer of the heritics"! Before the New Evangelism ever had a name, St. Anthony was totally doing it. His devotion to the Holy Eucharist was so widely known that one heretic challanged him to a test of faith. The heretic said that his mule should be starved for three days and then placed before a hay stack and the Eucharist contained in a monstrance upon an outside altar. If his donkey ignored the Eucharist and went to eat the hay, this would proved that the Eucharist was only a myth. But if the Eucharist was real and Jesus truly present there, then Jesus would call the donkey to come close to the Eucharist and kmeel down before the Eucharist and worship Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. If that happens, the heretic would repent and worship Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament as well. St. Anthony -- trusting in Jesus -- agreed to this experiment and did indeed place Jesus uppon an outside altar in view of the starved donkey and all the town's people. To the heretic's dismay, the donkey did not go and eat the hay but went to the Blessed Sacrment and worshipped on his two front knees. Of course, the heretic kept his word..and did believe from then on in true and real presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Additionally, Anthony could bi-locate, works numerous healings. And when he died a the early age of 36, any one who passed by his body was healed. Even those outside of the church who could not get in were also healed. Thus Anthony witnessed to the Resurrection of death of resurrection of Jesus in his very person by giving life to others even in his death.
3) The Corpus Christi -- see John 6: 51-71 -- is the Resurrected Jesus! Catholicism is not another mere religion among many. No; Catholicism is a Person! -- The Son of God: "the Word was with God; and the Word was God and the Word became flesh and dwelled amongst us." John 1.
That is whom we follow: God on the earth: Historically, Eucharistically and made Present by the Holy Spirit in all the seven Sacraments of the Catholic Church. Christ is present in the Sacrament of Marriage where the husband loves his wife as Christ loves His Chruch. In confession, Christ is present listening to our sins and washing them away by his Precious Blood. IN every Sacrament, the action of the Holy Spirit is powerfully manifest! Without the Holy Spirit, there are no Sacraments. He is the Power behind every Sacrament bringing Christ Present to us. But the Greast Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist because God is made Present with us: Immanuel!
4) The Sacred Heart of Jesus is the Love of God made Present in our lives...and we can feel the heart of His Love in our Lives. The most powerful prayer we can say is this one: "O Blood and water that gushed froth from the Heart of Christ as a fountain of mercy for us, I trust in you!" Starting with the devotion to the Sacred Heart through St. Mary Margaret Aloqoute, the Love of Christ in His Mercy and in His Great affection for us has never been so revealed as it has it is now! Men of the Old Testament never knew the Great Love of God until Jesus came. "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son..." John 3: 16. The Heart of Jesus...is our heaven on earth!..or Home..away from home...our protection ...our whole reason to be here: to be loved by Jesus and to love Jesus.
5) St. Anthony made it so clear in one of his most eloquent sermons: "The humility of Christ is shown to us in these three ways: 1) He became a little babe; 2) He died on the Cross; and 3) He hides in the Holy Eucharist."
The whole Paschal Mystery is thus pronounced by St. Anthony for us! Now we can see why the Holy Spirit has placed these three Great Feasts together almost as one liturgical meal. It all seems too rich to consume at one sitting; but actually each Feasts makes the other that much more palatable and loveable and enjoyable! -- all the more spiritually nourishing!
Peace and love,
Pio

Pio's Proverb 180: A Perfect Love.
There is something transcendent is us: a desire for a Perfect Love. All of us hope to find in our spouse or friend or parent or brother or sister or pastor a person who can love us perfectly. We soon find out that these people are just as human as we are! They are not perfect and do not love perfectly.
But why do we seek a Perfect Love? Why does literature place so much value on finding a perfect love.
Consider such classics as Great Expectations by Dickens: Pip's desire to marry Precilla who so far from being perfect. But in the end, the last line of the last page of this novel reads: "An I saw no shadow of separation from her again."
Consider Heathcliff and Cathy, Romeo and Juliet, Mr. Knightly and Emma, Joseph and Mary, John Wayne and Maureen Ohara (Quiet Man), Sam (Tom Hanks) and Annie..... What are all these couples trying to teach us? That the Human Spirit seeks a true love..a Perfect Love.
Will we ever find a Perfect Love. Those who found it in this world are those who GAVE it! Mother Teresa of Calcutta, St./Fr. Damien of Molkai, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Clare who gave up Francis to love Christ, St. Thomas More, St. Steven the first martyr, St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, St. Catherine, St. Therese of Lisieux. They found a true and perfect Love loving Jesus Christ Who had a Perfect Love for us on the Cross.
In this Universe there are so many perfect Constants/laws of Physics. But no Physicists has ever been able to put in a mathematical formula the intrinsic desire in humans for a Perfect Love.
Maybe because this desire is a mere reflection in us of the Most Perfect Eternal Love: God.
Maybe we were meant to have this Perfect Eternal Love in heaven - and be drawn into the Perfect Love in the Most Holy Trinity...forever!
Peace and love,
Pio

Pio's Proverb 179: "Money is the root of all good!"!
I am sure you have heard that "Money is the root of all evil". I do not believe that at all. Why? Let me count the ways:
1) My Dear Dad worked full time since he was 7 years old. He retired when he was about 55 years old because of the onset of Parkinson's disease. His labor helped to sustain his household for those 48 years. I imagine that my Dad earned in his life time approximately: $250,000. That money was the root of much good in his family's life. My Dad had 8 children and 41 grandchildren. His money gave life to others.
2) Since I made about an average of $60,000 a year, my 34 years at Ford Motor Company earned approximately: $2,040,000. That money was used to sustain a family of 8 people and helped to give my children a Catholic education which prepared them well to all get full scholarships to college and universities. That money did a lot of good.
3) What would I do now if I had that lump sum in the Bank? With the grace of God and for His Glory, here is what I would do with that $2 Million:
a) I would build a fleet of Compassion Vans called "Our Lady's Compassion Clinic on wheels" and park one in front of every abortion clinic in the US. These Compassion Vans would have the latest ultra-sound equipment in existence that has high resolution to show mothers their baby in living color in the hope that they would keep their child and not abort. I would offer these mothers money to help them give birth.
b) I would build the Saint Raphael Light House with an antenna to receive Ave Maria Radio from Ann Arbor, Michigan and call it SRRN: "The Saint Raphael Radion Network." I would invite all the pastors of New Baltimore of every denomination or synogogue to discuss on radio the latest issues of our times. I would host this weekly radio program called: "Pastors Speak Out".
c) I would support starving children in the world -- especailly in Africa where children eat sand to have their bellies full -- by raising money and donating to "Mary's Meals" - a tremendous Catholic lay institute that feeds millions around the world! This Christian Catholic institute also educates many children. Before Mary's meals, some children would not be able to sleep because they were worried there would not be food the next day. These children to heal them of this worry were given a slice of bread to sleep with so they could eat it in the morning. That worked...let us feed these kids!
d) I would start a hospital like Patch Adams did but mine would be just for pregnant teens and your mothers who need help to give birth and have the best of prenatal and postnatal care.
e) I would start a Senior Citizen Theater Company where only seniors would do plays for the Community and and call it: "Seniors at Play Theater Company". Seniors feel their best when they can contribute their wisdom to the next generations.
f) I would make sure that the food pantry of Immaculate Conception, St. Mary's Queen of Creastion and Good Sherpard Lutheran Church is always fully stocked with fresh food and that this food would be delivered to shut-ins.
g) I would pay lawyers to seek/investigate any and all health violations and malpractice of abortion clinics to help shut them down.
h) I would support the National Life League that is seeking to pass the :Life at Conception Act" that would declare that from the moment of conception, a human person is present - is is a biological fact. This would place every fetus under the protection of the 14th Amendment: "No person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law.."
i) I would help home-owners who are losing their homes to get Government assistance and help them qualify for immediate assistance.
j) I would seek to help seniors without medical insurance to obtain coverage under medicare or other medical coverage.
k) I would support Mcrest - a great program to help the homeless.
----------------------------------------
I wish I did have $2,000,000 because it would be for me the "root of all good!"
peace and love,
Pio

Pio's Proverb 178: Most Holy Trinity.
Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity: Trinity Sunday. How do we know that God is three Persons in ONE God?
1) The Gospel today is so clear from Matthew 28: 16-20 as Jesus says: "Go make disciples of all nations in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit." The dogma of the Holy Trinity is thus perfectly iterated by Jesus. This Dogma: There is ONE GOD in THREE DIVINE PERSONS!
is made perfectly clear by Jesus in that He says that these Divine Persons are equal not subodinate to one another but equally God.
2) Jesus says "in the Name of.." He does NOT say in the "Names of" because if He said Names in the plural, then there would be three Gods. The Father is God; the Son is God; and the Holy Spirit is God; but there are not three Gods. Jesus shows this ONENESS of God by making the "Name of" God to be singular!
3) The Church has always taught this dogma and is iterated in the Apostles' and Nicene and Athanasian Creeds. We say often the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds; but let me just quote from the Athanasian Creed of the 4th Century: "We distinquish Persons but do not divide substances....all are etenal in Majesty. The Father is Lord; the Son is Lord; the Holy Spirit is Lord. But there are not three Lords. The Father is etenal; the Son is eternal; the Holy Spirit is eternal." [In this we can clearly see that the Jehovah Witnesses' dogma in changing John's Gospel 1:1 to read: "The Word was a god" which is such a heresy - a resurrecting the Arian heresy. Also the Greek translation of this Gospel has the word "THE Word" as by Greek grammar meant to modify the object of the sentence as "God." There is no Greek article "a" and there cannot be lowering the word "God" to "a god". This robs God the Son of His Divinty! This denies the Holy Scripture by changing it. Likewise the Church of the Latter Day Saints also lowers Jesus making Him to be a creature and thus does not accept Jesus as God. There is no Trinitarian formula in the Jehovah Witnesses and Moman's creeds (Mormans identify Jesus with the angel Michael; but Michael is NOT eternal but is a creature of God). Therefore both of their baptisms are invalid because no one is baptized in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit" -- as Jesus told us to do in Matthew 28: 16-20. Both of these churches are "cults" and are NOT "Christian" because Jesus is not divine in the creeds of these churches. Also both of these churches/cults CHANGE Holy Scripture. Both of these churches ADD to Holy Scripture: the Jehovah Witnesses add the article "a" and lower the case of "God" to "a god"; and the Mormans ADD the book of Morman: both of these additions are NOT Holy Scripture nor are Divinely Inspired. The Holy Spirit -- regulated by the Jehovah Witnesses to a "force" not a Person -- cannot contradict HIMSELF by these heritical doctrines that change /add to Sacred Scripture. Additionally, the high prophet of the Morman Church made the following supposedly word from God as God saying through the high prophet: "As you are (man) so I was; and as I am so you shall become." This theological impossibility pronounces as coming directly from God's mouth that God the Father was once a "man" and that the prophet shall become "God". The divination of humans is part of the Morman church teaching. When I asked a Morman minister under what basis did the Morman church come to hold this doctrine of man's becoming God, his answer was thus: "I the Scripture is says: 'Be ye perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect!'." My kind reply was thus: "When Holy Scripture says, 'Be ye perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect', it does NOT say: "Be ye Divine as your Heavenly Father is Divine!'" Thus it is a totally theological and philosophical IMPOSSIBILITY for a man to become God and the Morman prophet who says that God was once a man actually intrinsically denies the Divinity of God the Father because God's Being as Divinely Eternal -- as eternally God -- is thus denied! If God's eternalness is denied, HE is denied to be God.]
4) The Catholic Church - in its 2000 year history - has never broken away from itself. It has preserved Holy Scripture without adding or subtracting from Holy Scripture. The Catholic Church has ALWAYS taughta and believed what John as written: " In the beginning was the Word. Word was with God; and the Word was God and the Word became flesh and dwelled amongs us.." This etenalness of the Word -- as God -- is thus consistent with Jesus words, Himself, when He said: "Before Abraham came to be I AM!" Additionally when Jesus was being Baptized by John the Baptist, the Holy Trinity was manifested: Jesus, the Word of God made flesh was present. The Holy Spirit was manifested as a Dove and the Father's voice like thunder said: "This is My beloved Son whom I am well pleaased..listen to Him!"
5) Here is an anology from Nature that may help us: In lightning there are three modes of being: light, heat and power. These modes of being are simultaneous. There are three modes of being that are perfectly united, perfectly simultaneous, perfectly one.
6) How is this Divinely revealed Dogma of the Most Holy Trinity RELAVANT to your life and mine no matter what our vocation is: married, single, religious, priest or lay apostolate? Here is how:
a) In the Holy Spirit there is Divine giving of the Divine Persons to one another. The Father loves the Son and gives Himself in Love totally to the Son. The Son loves the Father and gives Himself in Love totally to the Father. The LOVE between the Father IS the Holy Spirit Who thus is the Mutual Gift of Love between the Father and the Son. The Love of the Father for the Son and the Love of the Son for the Father is an INFINITE LOVE...an INIFNITELY ETERNAL PERSONAL LOVE..AND IS A PERSON: THE THIRD PERSON OF THE HOLY TRINITY.
b) When a married couple give themselves to one another in daily mutual devotion that is Permanent, Exclusive and Faithful are thus imitating the Holy Trinity's eternal Love that is Permanent, Exclusive and Faithful. When they are sexually and intimately ONE, they are truly manifesting the image and likeness of God in God's Trinitarian life: Three in ONE: thus in the Trinity there is the Lover, the Beloved and the Love: so too in Marriage, there is the Lover, the Beloved and the love between them...and often this love between them is actually a third person: a child. Just as the Trinity's inner Divine life of Self giving goes out toward others: "Bonum est diffisivum Sui", so, too, the married couple does serve the Community. Thus Family Love and Community Love are Images of the Divine Love of the Trinity that goes out of ONESELF and LOVES others INTO BEING: Creates countless angels and saints: creates you and me...and loves you and me. Thus Jesus says: "As the Father loves me, so I love you. ..Love one another as I have loved you!"
c) Religious -- brothers, nuns, and priest -- are also imitating the Holy Trinity by manifesting a great love for God Eucharistically and in the Community: thus devoting themselves to Christ personally in Holy Communion and IN the people of God whom they serve. Mother Teresa of Calcutta is the perfect example of manifesting the image of the Holy Trinity's Love for others.
d) Lay apostles - married or single - also devote themselves to Christ personally and Eucharistically when they serve Christ both in Sacrament and in apostolic service and ministry to others in their Community.
e) In reflection of the Most Holy Trinity, any time we manifest an outgoing love away from our own self interest toward another in need by means of our charity would be in imitation of the Most Holy Trinity in our lives. This would serve to bring about the Kingdom of God.
f) ABORTION - which happens 4,000 times every day in the US -- is the very OPPOSITE of a reflection of the Most Holy Trinity. Why? Because the Trinitarian Community Life within the Trinity is LIFE-GIVING, LOVE-GIVING, AND JOY-GIVING. Abortion gives unspeakable pain and dismemberment to a living human being. Killing of a member of our family is totally opposite of the Family Love of God within the Most Holy Trinity.
In conclusion, WE ALL - in our LIFE-GIVING LOVE manifest and REFLECT the INNER TRINITARIAN LIFE in our married love, our religious love, our community love. We all imitate the inner Love of the Holy Trinity. Thus, this dogma is ESSENTIAL TO OUR VERY BEING.
God's plan is so clear: after a life of self giving, we will be prepared to come into heaven where our Love will be etenally fulfilled as we enter spiritually more and more in a sharing of the INNER JOY of the Holy Trinity's Bliss! And we will GROW ever more and more in this Joy. "Enthusiams" is a Greek word that mean to "be caught up into God". We can see why saints like Mother Teresa and Blessed John Paul were so ENTHUSIATIC here on earth..and are being fulfilled in their enthusiams eternally!
Come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of the faithful and renew the face of the earth!
Love and peace and joy,
Pio Peter Zammit
