I am sure you have heard that "Money is the root of all evil". I do not believe that at all. Why? Let me count the ways:
1) My Dear Dad worked full time since he was 7 years old. He retired when he was about 55 years old because of the onset of Parkinson's disease. His labor helped to sustain his household for those 48 years. I imagine that my Dad earned in his life time approximately: $250,000. That money was the root of much good in his family's life. My Dad had 8 children and 41 grandchildren. His money gave life to others.
2) Since I made about an average of $60,000 a year, my 34 years at Ford Motor Company earned approximately: $2,040,000. That money was used to sustain a family of 8 people and helped to give my children a Catholic education which prepared them well to all get full scholarships to college and universities. That money did a lot of good.
3) What would I do now if I had that lump sum in the Bank? With the grace of God and for His Glory, here is what I would do with that $2 Million:
a) I would build a fleet of Compassion Vans called "Our Lady's Compassion Clinic on wheels" and park one in front of every abortion clinic in the US. These Compassion Vans would have the latest ultra-sound equipment in existence that has high resolution to show mothers their baby in living color in the hope that they would keep their child and not abort. I would offer these mothers money to help them give birth.
b) I would build the Saint Raphael Light House with an antenna to receive Ave Maria Radio from Ann Arbor, Michigan and call it SRRN: "The Saint Raphael Radion Network." I would invite all the pastors of New Baltimore of every denomination or synogogue to discuss on radio the latest issues of our times. I would host this weekly radio program called: "Pastors Speak Out".
c) I would support starving children in the world -- especailly in Africa where children eat sand to have their bellies full -- by raising money and donating to "Mary's Meals" - a tremendous Catholic lay institute that feeds millions around the world! This Christian Catholic institute also educates many children. Before Mary's meals, some children would not be able to sleep because they were worried there would not be food the next day. These children to heal them of this worry were given a slice of bread to sleep with so they could eat it in the morning. That worked...let us feed these kids!
d) I would start a hospital like Patch Adams did but mine would be just for pregnant teens and your mothers who need help to give birth and have the best of prenatal and postnatal care.
e) I would start a Senior Citizen Theater Company where only seniors would do plays for the Community and and call it: "Seniors at Play Theater Company". Seniors feel their best when they can contribute their wisdom to the next generations.
f) I would make sure that the food pantry of Immaculate Conception, St. Mary's Queen of Creastion and Good Sherpard Lutheran Church is always fully stocked with fresh food and that this food would be delivered to shut-ins.
g) I would pay lawyers to seek/investigate any and all health violations and malpractice of abortion clinics to help shut them down.
h) I would support the National Life League that is seeking to pass the :Life at Conception Act" that would declare that from the moment of conception, a human person is present - is is a biological fact. This would place every fetus under the protection of the 14th Amendment: "No person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law.."
i) I would help home-owners who are losing their homes to get Government assistance and help them qualify for immediate assistance.
j) I would seek to help seniors without medical insurance to obtain coverage under medicare or other medical coverage.
k) I would support Mcrest - a great program to help the homeless.

I wish I did have $2,000,000 because it would be for me the "root of all good!"
peace and love,
Pio
